Local Crematorium and Cemetery COVID 19 Restriction
Update as at 5 p.m. 29th November 2021
As you can appreciate this is subject to change, we are doing our very best to keep this site as up-to-date as possible.
THE LATEST UPDATE FROM THE GOVERNMENT IS THAT THE NEW RULES, THAT COME INTO EFFECT AT 4 AM ON 30TH NOVEMBER, DO NOT APPLY TO FUNERALS.
THEY DO, HOWEVER SUGGEST THE PUBLIC TAKE A LATERAL FLOW TEST PRIOR TO GOING TO A FUNERAL.
WE, HOWEVER, WOULD RECOMMED YOU WEAR A FACE MASK AS YOU WILL BE IN AN ENCLOSED ROOM WITH OTHERS FOR MORE THAN 25 MINUTES.
If you are still unsure as to what to do please PHONE US ON 01843 592720
We thank you in advance for your understanding.
At present the Cause of Death Certificate (MCCD) is automatically scanned and emailed to the Registrar at email@example.com with next of kin details.
A Registrar will then contact that person, usually no earlier than three days after receiving this email,
to confirm the necessary information to enable the registration to be completed.
The Registrar will then scan and email on the relevant forms and certificates to the appropriate place.
As long as you are well enough and have no Covid-19 symptoms, we will arrange a day and time for you to come in and see us, to make the funeral arrangements.
We would still prefer only up to 3 members of the public in our Front office at a time.
we Would be very gratEful if you could take a covid-19 test prior to this meeting TO help stop/slow down the spread of this infection.
We will also require you TO wear a mask at this meeting.
Hand sanitizer will be given on entry.
If there is a reason you connot wear a mask, we will arrange for an appropriate time to discuss the details of the funeral over the phone .
We need to ascertain the cause of Death as soon as possible and do not mean to be insensitive.
If the death is a confirmed case of COVID 19, EVERYONE who lived in the property with the deceased must be in 14 day isolation.
If you attend here under that circumstance we would ask you to leave and go home immediately and all arrangements will be made over the telephone.
Thanet Crematorium has advised us they can seat (as of 19th July 2021) up to 80 people inside the Chapel with no one standing and no one in the foyer.
The inner doors of the Chapel will be open but the outer glass doors will have to stay closed.
The outside speakers will be on for anyone listening outside.
There is a one way system at the Crematorium which will be coned out.
You are asked to wait on the green, if you are waiting for the next Service.
Please DO NOT wait on the Bandstand as this is the way out, after the Service.
It is your choice if you wish to wear a face mask. You are no longer legally required to do so. Whatever makes you feel more comfortable.
Hand sanitiser will be available on entry if you wish to use it.
Other Crematoria may have different rules.
If you are showing any Covid 19 symptoms, the guidelines are that you stay at home and watch via the streaming service.
Web Streaming is available.
Demand for this is high and in some cases buffering does occur.
Using the same link, the Service will stay live and can be viewed for the next 7 days.
As of 19th July 2021, the limits for people attending Burials in Ramsgate & Margate Cemeteries have been lifted. Please phone us for guidance as both Chapels are small.
These people should not be showing any Coronavirus symptoms.
Interments and scattering of Cremated Remains are now going ahead, witnessed or unwitnessed.
